Alicia Wuesthoff

My love for this work endures despite how distressing it can be. My affinity for working with trauma has only been enhanced by the contribution of SE. Learning SE has been a privilege that is humbling, moving, and invigorating. I have found SE to be transformative both personally and professionally. I like to say it has turned my world upside down. This tells you a little about me as a person (hard to choose one thing!) but it is where I am moved to start as you prepare for what I hope will be your own transformative experience. I  am a school-based clinician in elementary school, behavioural healthcare with children and adults experiencing trauma-based anxiety, depression, and relational struggles

(Hellinger work to heal family and transgenerational trauma). I also bring my background in
psychiatric nursing and a lifelong commitment to my own spiritual and emotional
development. I use my SE skills to support people to become more embodied and to make
the mind body connections regarding any physical, health and trauma related issues. I work mainly with adults with chronic pain/fibromyalgia, early/development trauma, grief and loss, medical procedure trauma, sexual trauma, motor vehicle collisions and falls.

I love backwoods canoe tripping; I try to do 4-5 trips each year, and especially love taking out friends and family who have never been before and introducing them to this way of exploring and of being in nature. My practice focuses on adults, trauma, and borderline personality disorder.

In my somatic therapy practice, I help people become more attuned to their body and use healthy strategies to better navigate life's challenges and rediscover their essence and vitality. I use different tools, like Somatic Experiencing (SE), Transforming the Experience based-Brain (TEB), co-regulating touch, yoga, movement, mindfulness and breath work, to help people restore inner balance and resilience in their body. I offer personal sessions at the Beginner and Intermediate levels. I am fluent in French and English.
