Rebecca Minish

She/her

I’m a Social Worker, Psychotherapist, and SEP who lives and works on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe territory in Ottawa, ON. I’ve been in private practice since 2019 following more than a decade of working in community non-profit organizations (housing/homelessness, mental health and addictions, sexual and gender-based violence) and community work remains near and dear to me.

While I see individual adults in my practice, I work from a systemic orientation that recognizes the impacts of systems and environments on our individual and collective well-being. I’m particularly passionate about supporting intergenerational healing and working at the intersections of developmental and systemic trauma. I also provide supervision that incorporates somatics and explores the relational and resonant fields of clinical work.

I’m committed to and engaged in a process of lifelong learning and unlearning of the impacts of systems of oppression—both how I’ve been harmed and how I’ve contributed towards harm—in pursuit of uncovering more just, relational, and liberatory ways of being.

I completed my SE training from 2016-2018 with Berns Galloway in Ottawa and have been assisting with Dea Parsanishi ever since. I’m an approved personal session provider at all levels (Beg, Int, Adv) and approved for individual case consultations at the Beginning level.
